Homecoming week at Chipley High School came with some special honors for two names in Tiger history.
Before the Oct. 23 game, Chipley High School retired the No. 22 jersey of former Tiger Amp Lee. Lee went on to play at Florida State and in the NFL, where he won a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams.
A field named for Coach Whitcomb
The night also honored longtime Tigers coach Willard Whitcomb. The football field is now Willard Whitcomb Field at the Philip Rountree Stadium, a naming the Washington County School Board approved in July.
A Homecoming win
The Tigers then capped Homecoming week with a 35-0 win over Vernon.
